Healing After Abortions: Demica Paige’s Powerful Testimony

Bruce: Welcome to another edition of Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday night, coming to you from the John Barrows Memorial Studios here at Salem, Orlando. I’m Bruce Cherry. Across from me is my lovely, patient, and forgiving wife, Vicky Cherry.

Vicky: Oh, why do I have to forgive you?

Bruce: No, I’m just storing up points for later. Now, yeah, you were running behind though.

Vicky: Yeah, yeah, that was part of it. That was it, so I always forgive you.

Bruce: There we go. We thank you all for joining us tonight. We’ve got a great guest who’s making her second appearance on the show: Demica Paige. Demica, welcome back!

Demica: Thank you. Thank you, Bruce and Vicky. So good to be on the show again with you guys.

Bruce: Well, we’re blessed to have you back. Before we get started, we always start off with Jeremiah 1:5 and a prayer.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Heavenly Father, we once again come before You and lay our cares at Your feet. God, we just ask You to let us be fruitful in changing hearts and minds, sharing truth, and helping someone out there. We know there’s someone listening right now at the sound of our voices who is in a crisis pregnancy. There is no such thing as a crisis pregnancy to You—we know that a pregnancy is a blessing from You—but they may feel alone. Maybe they’re not in the best place in a relationship right now, or maybe they’re in financial straits. But that baby is a blessing from You, and You have ordained it to be. We do not have the right to end that life.

So God, we ask You to please let us be fruitful in changing someone’s mind, saving that baby, and providing resources to help them raise that child. Lord, we ask You to let us be fruitful tonight. We ask for Your blessing upon our guest, upon our producer, upon our show, and upon this ministry. We ask all of this in the name of Your precious Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Vicky: Amen.

Bruce: All right, Demica, how are you? How have you been?

Demica: Oh, I’m wonderful. I’m wonderful! God is really good.

Bruce: Amen to that! Now, Demica is a pro-life activist. She shared her story with us the last time she was on the show alongside BeBe Ford from the Fiona Jackson Women’s Pregnancy Center. Demica is also a fitness instructor—can I say guru? Are you a fitness guru or expert?

Demica: I’m definitely passionate about fitness! I love it; it is absolutely my passion.

Bruce: Okay! And she’s also an entrepreneur who works in the insurance field. But you also have a ministry called Whole Armor Health. Tell us about that.

Demica: Yes! Whole Armor Health came about when the Lord showed me that I could combine two of my passions: studying His Word and studying fitness, and showing how they work together. Now, when I walk people through their fitness journey, I also guide them through the Scriptures and allow the Word to minister to their soul.

The foundational Scripture for Whole Armor Health is 3 John 1:2: “Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers.” When we engage in fitness to produce good physical health, we can’t truly achieve wholeness if our soul is sick. So we address both simultaneously. We go through the science of healing the body, and we also go through the Scripture that heals the soul.

Vicky: That sounds very, very interesting. I remember the last time you were on, I wanted to get a hold of you, but I don’t think I ever did. Near future, Bruce and I both need to do something!

Demica: Absolutely! Couples are the most fun to work with.

Vicky: Oh, good! So, you just finished a Mended post-abortion Bible study. Share with us what that was like, what it’s about, and maybe recap the beginning of your story for listeners who might not remember the last time you were on.

Demica: When I met Pastor BeBe Ford and she told me about the Mended class, I thought it sounded like a cool program, but I didn’t think it was for me. I had four abortions in my young adult years, but I had already come to understand how God sees that and had repented for it. I felt I was in a good place, so I dismissed the idea.

However, several years later, God was dealing with other areas of my heart. He brought me to a place where I was willing to go through the class just to see what He had for me, as I was looking for Him to do a deep work in my life. I went through the Mended class at the beginning of last year, and wow—did He work in me! It was so powerful, Ms. Vicky. I dealt with things in my heart I didn’t even know were there. He healed me in areas I didn’t realize needed healing and delivered me in aspects of my soul where I didn’t know I needed deliverance. It ended up being a supernatural experience.

After that, the Lord put it on my heart to complete the training course to help other women experience that same healing. I finished the training and recently completed leading my first student through the class. Seeing the hand of God move every single week in that young lady’s life was absolutely mind-blowing. It’s a wonderful course. I would encourage any woman who has had an abortion—whether it was a year ago, five years ago, or 20 years ago—to allow the Lord to do that deep work in their heart through the Mended course.

Vicky: I think a lot of women find they didn’t even realize there was still pain from that experience. Even 20 years later, they think they’ve moved on, but it still affects their relationships and life.

Bruce: I’ve talked to several fathers while doing sidewalk counseling at the abortion clinic in Altamonte. While I’ve asked for God’s forgiveness and received it—and I know that in my heart—it still hurts. I participated in the abortion of two of my children over 30 years ago. Even though I know I have forgiveness, that pain doesn’t fully go away. It fuels me to continue fighting until we protect all unborn children. But I’m sure that Bible study helps with that process a great deal.

Demica: I totally agree. I love that you bring up the dads in that equation, because people often forget about the fathers who are impacted. The seed comes from the man. There is no way a man remains untouched by that decision, because both parents enter into an agreement to terminate a destiny that God planned before that child was woven in the mother’s womb. When that agreement happens, that bond needs to be broken, and deep healing work has to take place for both the woman and the man.

Vicky: So often, men aren’t even taken into consideration. If they are, they’re told, “You don’t have a say in this—stand over there or drive her to the clinic.” It isn’t right. You see videos of men begging mothers not to abort their child, promising they’ll work it out, yet they feel powerless.

Bruce: Studies show that 70% of abortions would not happen if the father actively expressed a desire to keep the baby.

Vicky: There are so many sides to this issue. Sometimes women proceed with an abortion because they falsely assume that’s what the man wants without ever asking him. We’ve had women on the show share that story. We also had a guest whose partner encouraged the abortion and took her to the clinic, but had a change of heart on his drive home. By the time he turned around and returned to the clinic, it was too late. That’s why having a waiting period to process the shock is so critical. We can talk later about establishing a mandatory 72-hour reflection period.

Bruce: Welcome back to Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday evening. I’m Bruce Cherry, alongside my lovely wife, Vicky Cherry. Joining us today is Demica Paige—a great prayer warrior, founder of Whole Armor Health, and advocate with a powerful testimony. Before the break, Vicky, you were about to share a news story from Kentucky.

Vicky: Former University of Kentucky cheerleader Laken Snelling, 22, pled guilty this past Friday to first-degree manslaughter in the death of her newborn son. She admitted in court to placing the infant in a plastic bag and hiding his body in a closet instead of seeking help. The Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office determined the full-term infant was born alive in August 2025 and died of asphyxia. A grand jury indicted her, and I’ll be keeping an eye on this case as it moves through the justice system.

Bruce: It sounds similar to the story we discussed involving the couple in North Carolina.

Vicky: Right. In that case, an 18- and 19-year-old took abortion pills at 31 weeks pregnant. That’s nearly full-term. Prosecutors are attempting to hold them accountable under state laws, while defense arguments claim women should not be held criminally liable under pro-life statutes.

Bruce: Demica, what is the fundamental difference between these tragic cases and states that have enacted late-term abortion provisions?

Demica: From both a personal and biblical perspective, there is no structural difference between taking a child’s life right before birth inside the womb or taking that life outside the womb. In both cases, an innocent human life is ended. Innocent blood is shed, and the moral standard remains the same.

Vicky: We also have to look at cases involving extreme mental health crises. While we must show compassion for individuals suffering severe psychiatric breakdowns—or those harmed by improper medical oversight—we cannot lose sight of the victims. Society often rallies support for the perpetrator while overlooking the innocent lives lost.

Bruce: When laws expand beyond reasonable protections, it creates a slippery slope regarding how society values human life at various stages of development.

Demica: When society begins deciding that a life isn’t worth preserving because a child isn’t “perfect” or faces health challenges, we override God’s sovereignty. In Scripture, even when Mephibosheth was injured as a child and lived with a disability, God arranged for him to be cared for at the king’s table. God has a distinct plan and purpose for every single soul He allows into this world, regardless of physical or developmental conditions.

Bruce: None of us are perfect. Only one perfect person ever walked this earth, and He gave His life for us all. It is by His grace that we have the opportunity for forgiveness and redemption.

Vicky: That responsibility extends to every level of society. We have drifted away from personal accountability, truth, and moral standards.

Bruce: Welcome back to the final segment of Pro-Life Radio. I’m Bruce Cherry here with Vicky Cherry and our special guest, Demica Paige. Vicky, tell us about the recent legislative update out of New Jersey.

Vicky: New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed a reproductive health access measure aimed at restricting physical obstruction or interference near health facility entrances. Pro-life advocates are concerned that broadly applied language could be used to curb peaceful sidewalk counseling and prayer outreach on public property.

Bruce: Sidewalk outreach remains a critical way to offer real-time help, alternatives, and support to mothers who feel they have no other choice.

Vicky: Exactly. Our local team will be out at the Maitland facility on Saturday, August 29th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offering prayer and resources.

Bruce: Right next door to that facility is Life Choices, a life-affirming pregnancy resource center. Mothers who choose to turn around can walk right next door for free ultrasounds, counseling, and material support. During our last outreach event, four lives were impacted and redirected toward care resources.

Demica: That is wonderful news.

Bruce: Demica, before we wrap up tonight’s episode, tell our listeners about your upcoming community health events and how they can get in touch with your ministry.

Demica: I work with a nonprofit organization called Mobile Access. We are hosting a free Senior Health Expo on Saturday, October 10th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Calvary Orlando Gym in Winter Park. It’s open to adults 50 and older, offering doctor presentations, health vendors, and wellness educational resources.
