Prolife Radio Sidewalk Counseling After Party
Pro-Life Radio – Sidewalk Counseling Afterparty 2
Announcer:
Pro-Life Radio is a pre-recorded program paid for by Pro-Life Radio—preserving the sanctity of life in Florida, a loud voice for the unborn. This is Pro-Life Radio with your hosts, Vicky and Bruce Cherry.
Bruce Cherry:
And welcome to another edition of Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday night. We are pre-recording on a Saturday afternoon because it is Pro-Life Saturday on this 26th day of September, and we’ll explain how all this came to be.
Across from me is my lovely wife, Vicky Cherry. We have a host of guests with us who are part of our Pro-Life Radio team, and the reason we were pre-recording on a Saturday was that we were out at the abortion clinic in Altamonte today.
Vicky Cherry:
We were. We were.
Bruce Cherry:
And so we have a team that started way back—what, at least three years ago? We were on the Human Life Protection amendment, then we went to Amendment 4, and now we’re still going strong with All Life Matters and Pro-Life Radio.
All right, so we have Barbara Sainsbury with us. Am I pronouncing your last name correctly? Okay. Barbara Sainsbury is a devout Catholic warrior. Don’t mess with her bake sales! She does everything she can to support pro-life. Barbara is the lady who invited us—it’s been a year ago already—out to the National Day of Remembrance for the Aborted Children, which she organizes every year in Sanford. God bless you. Thank you for being here with us today.
Barbara Sainsbury:
Thank you for speaking at that event. I appreciate it very much. It was a beautiful memorial, and it was an honor to be there.
Bruce Cherry:
It was. Also, we have with us on our pro-life team, Lynn Voskin. Lynn is a retired cardiac nurse—the nurse with a heart!
Vicky Cherry:
Oh, good title: “The Nurse with a Heart for All Life.”
Bruce Cherry:
She is a fierce pro-life warrior, a great friend of ours, and has been supporting us for quite a while. We wanted to have her on the show. We are glad to have you here today, Lynn.
Lynn Voskin:
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Bruce Cherry:
All right. And we have Leo and Jeanette Carrier, also members of our pro-life team, supporters of Pro-Life Radio, and members of our church group and Bible study. Lynn’s a member of our Bible study, too. We are just blessed with some really fantastic people that God has surrounded us with who have a heart for life. And they all realize that—
Vicky Cherry:
Somebody’s got to keep you in check, honey bun!
Bruce Cherry:
Well, yeah, exactly. And they all realize that we, as human beings, have no right to disqualify a life that God has ordained.
So with that said, let’s get to the show. We always start off with Jeremiah 1:5 and prayer: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Heavenly Father, we come to You once again. We beseech You: help us to remove this blight from our land. Let us end abortion in our lifetime. But we know all timing is up to You. We know the good works are ours, but the results are Yours. Heavenly Father, we just ask You, let us be effective in changing hearts, in changing minds, in saving the unborn, and honoring all life—lives that You have ordained to live, that You have ordained to be. We do not have the right to extinguish those.
God, we pray for those who have had abortions, those who are thinking about having an abortion, and those who are seeking healing. We pray for the doctors and nurses in the abortion clinics—that their hearts change, that they see just how wrong what they are doing is, and that they come to know You as we have. God, we ask You to let us be effective in all that we do. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Vicky Cherry:
Amen.
Bruce Cherry:
All right, so lots of stuff going on this week in the pro-life movement. Vicky, you came across something in Georgia—that Georgia is now recognizing the unborn.
Vicky Cherry:
Yes, and I think it’s been on their books for a while, but Georgia law recognizes unborn children as natural persons. Hallelujah! It’s crazy that we have to—like my sister Debbie, who’s also here in the studio, said—it’s crazy we have to have a law to recognize a baby in the womb as a human, as a natural person deserving of personhood and the right to life. Because if you don’t have life, as one of our friends says, you’re dead. Simple as that.
Bruce Cherry:
Absolutely. It is amazing that we’re at this point in time. But something we studied this past week—and we’ve known this for a while—is that each one of us was selected by God to be here at this time. For such a time as this, to be involved in this fight.
Those of you sitting at home listening, if this is something on your heart, think about that: You were chosen to be born so that you would live at this time, and everything that has gone into your life to this point has shaped you for this. Especially if you’re a Christian—and even if you’re not—God has a purpose for your life. And it may be to help fight for the life of the unborn.
The most innocent, precious, and cherished lives haven’t done anything wrong. They have no voice—well, except for Pro-Life Radio, right? They don’t make a choice of being able to live or die; they’re not given a choice.
It’s like the toddler who was euthanized in Sweden—a country wildly liberal. They euthanized a two-year-old toddler with special needs. That child had no say in that. None. That is just out-and-out murder. And when officials were questioned about it, one of them said the procedure went “swimmingly well.”
Vicky Cherry:
Oh, my goodness.
Bruce Cherry:
“Swimmingly well” to take the life of a two-year-old child who doesn’t even know what’s going on, who has no clue. How have we come to this point in our society? And when I say our society, I mean the world. We’re all God’s people. Whether people recognize that they are a creation of God or not, we are all God’s people. How did we get to the point where we are euthanizing those who can’t speak for themselves, those who are sick, and killing babies in the womb—what is supposed to be the safest place in the world for a child?
I am befuddled by it. And I say that because I am a different man than I was 30 years ago. Thirty years ago, I participated in the abortion of two of my own children. I have changed; I am different. I’ve asked for God’s forgiveness, and He has granted it. Now I work to save the unborn. I was selfish then. I was selfish, and I was insecure. I thought, Oh, I can’t be a dad. I’m not ready to be a dad. What was I thinking?
Knowing differently now, you realize you just didn’t have the faith you needed that God was going to make things all right, that God was going to lead you through it. But now I do. And I talk to my sons about not going down the same path that I went down. One of them listens; the other one is not so sure, still thinking about it.
Lynn, did you have something you wanted to add?
Lynn Voskin:
Well, it’s amazing. In the many years we’ve all known each other, we’ve seen maturity happen with the more knowledge we have about what we can see now that we couldn’t see years ago.
I remember in 2016, I was given access to a video of the fertilization of the ovum by the sperm, and the flash of light that exploded under the high-energy microscope—seeing scientifically how life really does begin at conception. We can say this and that, but science is now substantiating the belief system that the Word put in place so many years ago.
John 1:9 says, “The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.” Based upon the Jeremiah verse we use on Pro-Life Radio, we have to see that as truth. God ordained us. Our nation 250 years ago was wrought on biblical truths. Within us as a human race, God has created a spark of life and potential that goes far beyond anything we can imagine as a young person—even with you, Bruce, 30 years ago. Look at the maturity, depth of knowledge, and passion within us now to proclaim the truth.
We don’t want anybody walking the streets encumbered by ignorance when we have this God-given knowledge to substantiate our passion. I’ve never been so amazed with a group of people as with Pro-Life Radio and our Bible study. It’s something to be cherished. Bruce and Vicky are both amazing people in their own rights and specialties.
The things that have been done with aborted fetal tissue are unbelievable. We do not need these things. We can get through scientific research without selling baby parts. With AI and modern advances, we don’t necessarily even need to go to the International Space Station to accelerate studies; we can do it here on Earth with what we have available.
I want everyone listening to this station to understand that the passion of these people is beyond what you can imagine in love and dedication.
Bruce Cherry:
Thank you, Lynn. Lynn is the sweetest woman.
Vicky Cherry:
She is. She is, and we’re blessed to have her on our team.
Bruce Cherry:
Hey, we’re up against a break. We’ll be right back. If you like this ministry and would like to help us keep it on the air, we’ve got details coming on how you can do just that. Also coming up: Heartbeat International is being sued by California—you won’t believe why. I’ll tell you in just a bit.

Bruce Cherry:
And welcome back to Pro-Life Radio. You’re hearing this on a Sunday evening, but we’re actually recording on a Saturday because we were out at the abortion clinic earlier, and we brought our wonderful team of pro-lifers. We’re “lifers”—not in prison, but lifers to protect life, right?
We’ve got a wonderful group in here: Barbara—
Barbara Sainsbury:
Hello.
Bruce Cherry:
Lynn—you heard from Lynn earlier. Jeanette—
Jeanette Carrier:
Hi!
Bruce Cherry:
And Leo.
Leo Carrier:
Hello, Vicky.
Bruce Cherry:
And of course, my wonderful wife, Vicky Cherry.
Vicky Cherry:
And handsome husband, Bruce! And the person who gathers a lot of our material, the world’s greatest sister-in-law, Debbie Shandy, in the other studio. Yay, Debbie!
Okay, you found something on the doctor who helped legalize abortion?
Bruce Cherry:
Yes, this is quite an account. I’m just going to read it:
Dr. Bernard Nathanson, once a leading figure in the movement to legalize abortion and keep it legal, spent the last decades of his life raising awareness about the horrors of abortion and repenting for the tens of thousands of abortions for which he was responsible. He was a co-founder of NARAL—the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws—and one of the most prominent abortion providers in America. He wasn’t criticizing the abortion movement from the outside; he helped build it.
Then he decided he needed to see with his own eyes what actually happened during an abortion. In 1984, he had a first-trimester suction abortion recorded by real-time ultrasound. What he saw would ultimately lead him to reject the movement he had helped build. This is his own account:
“By 1984, however, I had begun to ask myself more questions about abortion. What actually goes on in an abortion? I had done many, but abortion is a blind procedure. The doctor does not see what he’s doing. He puts an instrument into a uterus, turns on a motor, the suction machine goes on, something is vacuumed out, and it ends up as a little pile of meat in a gauze bag. I wanted to know what happened.
So in 1984, I said to a friend of mine who was doing 15 or 20 abortions a day, ‘Look, do me a favor, Jay. Next Saturday, when you’re doing all these abortions, put an ultrasound device on the mother and tape it for me.’ He did. And when he looked at the tapes with me in an editing studio, he was so affected that he never did another abortion. I, though I had not done an abortion in five years, was shaken to the very roots of my soul by what I saw.”
NARAL was huge; they’re still huge. Once this doctor, who thought it was okay, and his friend doing 15 to 20 abortions a day saw what they were doing, they stopped.
People, it’s not a clump of cells. It is a life. And if you’re the mother or the father, it is your child. It doesn’t matter if it was rape or incest—that’s still your child, and that baby is not responsible for the acts of its father.
Lynn Voskin:
You bring up the mother and father, but as a critical care nurse in a local hospital, what we went through for life was amazing. I worked predominantly on a Christian unit, and the amount of miracles we saw was astonishing. When we brought the Holy Spirit down the halls and into the rooms, we would nip things in the bud before they happened.
Now, with medicine the way it is, it gets challenging with patient overflows. I am retired now, but I’m also speaking as a grandmother of the two most priceless granddaughters you could imagine. They’re beautiful and loving. What we saw today—we believe we saw a grandmother taking her daughter in to end the life of her grandchild. I can’t even comprehend that.
Bruce Cherry:
Get close to the microphone there, Jeanette.
Jeanette Carrier:
Okay, well… I went up toward the building, and I was just praying spiritual warfare and casting out demons in the building and over all the people. I was asking the Holy Spirit to fill that space, and for God to open their eyes so they could see and feel the truth.
Everybody was screaming at me because, if you don’t know, there are buffer laws. We’re supposed to stay back a certain distance; we cannot be on the abortion clinic property.
Bruce Cherry:
Jeanette wasn’t aware of that, so she was walking right up there praising the Lord and praying! We were all like, “Jeanette!” But hey, if you got arrested, we’d bail you out. I asked Leo, “You’ve got bail money, right?”
Leo Carrier:
She gets us in trouble all the time. I never leave home without it!
Bruce Cherry:
There might have been someone in there whose baby was saved today; you just never know. I’d like to believe that because we were out there praying, God was blessing us.
Vicky Cherry:
I’ve heard stories of women who went to have an abortion, and just seeing people standing outside holding a sign, praying, or singing made them reconsider. That’s what we do out there.
We invite anyone who wants to come join us: Saturday, October 24th will be our next time. Normally it’s the last Saturday of the month, but October is a busy month, so October 24th will be the date at the clinic on Maitland Avenue in Altamonte Springs. Come out, be a sidewalk prayer or sidewalk singer, hold signs, and then come record with us afterward!
Bruce Cherry:
So Jeanette, go back to your story. You were trying to get us arrested?
Jeanette Carrier:
No! I was just following the Lord. He called me to do that, and if He wanted me to be arrested, I’d have been arrested.
Bruce Cherry:
For those listening: there is a property line and buffer restrictions, and we do not trespass on the clinic’s property. We stay on the public sidewalk and right-of-way. We stand out there, pray, read Scripture, and sing. Anyone who wants to talk to us is welcome to do so.
We had quite a few people drive by today and honk their horns and wave—good honks. Some people slowed down to scream obscenities at us. If they’re listening: that doesn’t discourage us; it just fuels the fire. As Christians, we wear that as a badge of honor. Barbara got fueled up today, too!
Barbara Sainsbury:
Somebody drove by screaming and waving with the wrong finger, and I just said, “God loves you! God bless you, have a nice day!” I feel sorry for people whose only outlet is going out of their way to scream obscenities at someone else simply because we believe differently.
Bruce Cherry:
A couple of weeks ago, we talked about a state trying to challenge buffer zones. We joked that maybe we need to make a trip there so Jeanette can fulfill her dream of getting arrested! I don’t recall which state—Massachusetts, maybe?
Anyway, I mentioned earlier that Heartbeat International is being sued by California: The People of the State of California v. Heartbeat International and RealOptions Obria in Alameda County Superior Court. The California Attorney General filed a lawsuit against Heartbeat International—a nonprofit serving pregnancy help organizations nationwide—over Abortion Pill Reversal. The state alleges that promoting abortion pill reversal violates California’s false advertising and unfair competition laws.
If California wins, it could affect how pregnancy centers handle abortion pill reversal nationwide—what can be said, what services can be offered. California is attempting to silence the truth; they don’t want women to see ultrasounds, receive counseling on keeping their baby, or have access to information about Abortion Pill Reversal. Organizations like Liberty Counsel will step up to fight this.
We’ll keep an eye on that story. We’re up against another break. We are streaming on TheAnswerOrlando.com, coming to you from the John Barrows Memorial Studio at AM 950 / FM 94.9 The Answer.

And we’re back with Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday night. I’m Bruce Cherry, across from my lovely wife, Vicky Cherry. We have Leo and Jeanette Carrier from our team; Lynn Voskin, retired cardiac nurse and avid pro-lifer; and Barbara Sainsbury, devout Catholic warrior and queen of the pro-life bake sales!
Barbara Sainsbury:
The parishioners are very generous!
Bruce Cherry:
Whenever we need funds for a project, Barbara steps up with a bake sale and raises $300 or $400. Barbara, you had a question for the audience?
Barbara Sainsbury:
In our discussion before the break—it’s hard to believe that anyone facing a crucial life decision wouldn’t want to hear the pros and cons before deciding. Why would a court case try to squelch the truth and prevent a woman from knowing all her options? It makes no sense.
Bruce Cherry:
Years ago in Florida, there was a major fight because pro-lifers wanted women to have the opportunity to see an ultrasound before an abortion, and the abortion industry fought hard against it. It’s about silencing truth.
In today’s cancel culture, anyone who speaks up for truth risks getting canceled. Boy George of Culture Club fame—he’s likely not a Christian, but he spoke up in support of Israel, and venues and dates started getting canceled.
When organizations like Heartbeat International effectively share the truth about abortion pill reversal, it cuts into the abortion and pharmaceutical industry’s profits. Always follow the money. So California sues Heartbeat International and RealOptions Obria. Lawsuits like these are designed not just to silence organizations, but to crush them financially so others are afraid to speak up.
Leo, I’ve been waiting to hear from you. What do you have to say?
Leo Carrier:
I’m just amazed at the work Bruce and Vicky are doing. Each week they bring on interesting guests to educate listeners on the reality of abortion and the good work of the pro-life movement.
When we were down at the clinic today, we wondered how much of a difference we were making. But God created us as visual people. We don’t know who is driving down the street facing a crisis pregnancy. When they see us holding signs and praying, it can make an impact. You have to participate, or nothing happens.
Bruce Cherry:
There have been times when people pulled into the driveway and stopped because Life Choices Women’s Clinic is right next door. A while back, a Haitian couple came in seeking the abortion pill. We spoke with them; the husband wanted the baby, but the wife did not. I shared my story with the husband: “Go fight for your child. Talk to your wife, fight for your child. Let’s pray.”
We prayed and talked with them, and they decided to go next door to Life Choices to see what help was available, because they were worried they couldn’t afford a child. Life Choices has a boutique with baby clothes, diapers, and supplies up through toddler age, along with free ultrasounds.
Vicky Cherry:
Sometimes you don’t get to see the outcome of your efforts, but moments like that fuel you. It makes your knees weak feeling the Holy Spirit work.
What I love most is seeing someone walk out of the clinic and walk across the grass over to Life Choices—they share the same driveway on Maitland Avenue in Altamonte Springs. People will go in, spend time there, and come out saying, “Thank you, we’re going to keep our baby.” Sometimes they leave with supplies right then and there.
Bruce Cherry:
A woman stopped today and asked, “If you talk someone out of an abortion, what do you do then?” There is so much support available. An organization called Let Them Live helps mothers with rent, job placement, and financial needs. They report a 98% rate of women choosing life once financial burdens are relieved.
Lynn Voskin:
Once that support is there, everything changes. Years ago, Beta House provided housing for expectant mothers to keep them safe, followed by parenting education and post-birth support until they could get on their feet. Ongoing support is imperative for helping them raise their children successfully.
Vicky Cherry:
We know a woman named Cheryl Hadley. She always knew she was adopted, but found out many years later that she was conceived through rape and incest. Did that diminish the value of her life? No. She became a pastor’s wife and has touched the lives and faith of thousands of people.
Lynn Voskin:
Cheryl’s story is so important because it has a beautiful outcome. A mother in crisis wonders what kind of life her child will have. Cheryl’s life turned out magnificent. She and her husband adopted a son, who has since blessed them with grandchildren.
Another guest who has been on the show, Martha Chrisley, became pregnant through rape, chose life, and placed her son for adoption. Years later, her son searched for his birth mother, they reunited, and today they have a wonderful relationship. He has blessed her with grandchildren, with another on the way.
To anyone who says a child conceived in trauma has no meaning: God can take something terrible and bring tremendous good from it.
Bruce Cherry:
People say, “What if they grow up poor?” Just because someone is poor doesn’t mean they don’t deserve life!
Speaking of being poor, details are coming up on how you can help keep Pro-Life Radio on the air! We have a “Save the Date” for our fundraiser on November 7th. We’ll share more in a moment on AM 950 / FM 94.9 The Answer.

Bruce Cherry:
And welcome back to Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday evening. We had a wonderful morning at the abortion clinic praising God and hoping to change hearts and minds.
There is a recent lawsuit targeting Texas and its pro-life laws, alleging that a 37-year-old woman was a casualty of the state’s abortion restrictions. However, pro-life physicians strongly disagree.
Tierra Walker, 37, passed away from preeclampsia in December 2024 following multiple hospital visits during a high-risk pregnancy. She suffered from hypertension, seizures, severe pain, and deep vein thrombosis. Two days before she passed, doctors discharged her from the emergency room stating she was stable.
On September 15th, her family filed a lawsuit against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, her attending physicians, the Texas Medical Board, and the University of Texas health care system, claiming she was denied an abortion that could have saved her life.
Texas law explicitly allows medical interventions to save the life of the mother—every pro-life state includes this exception. Pro-life medical leaders contend this tragedy was a failure of standard medical care, not the law. Dr. Christina Francis, head of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG), stated that Walker likely would have survived had she received standard medical care, which is fully legal under Texas law. Dr. Francis noted that this heartbreaking loss highlights critical shortcomings in maternal healthcare coordination and the management of severe medical emergencies.
It sounds like she was discharged when she should have been admitted and closely monitored.
Lynn Voskin:
In critical care, patients presenting with preeclampsia, extreme hypertension, and seizures require immediate admission and continuous monitoring. Preeclampsia is a serious condition, but it is treatable when managed proactively. Emergency room triage must coordinate directly with high-risk neonatal and maternal specialists. Discharging a patient with active hypertensive crisis and seizures is a breakdown in clinical management, not a legal limitation.
Bruce Cherry:
It raises the question of whether the legal challenge is being used by pro-choice advocacy groups to overturn state protective laws.
Jeanette Carrier:
Wait, Bruce, you mentioned Ken Paxton was named in a lawsuit. Is Ken Paxton pro-life?
Bruce Cherry:
Yes, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is strongly pro-life. The lawsuit was brought against him and the state of Texas.
Jeanette Carrier:
Got it. I wanted to make sure that was clear to everyone listening.
Barbara Sainsbury:
With elections approaching, it’s vital that voters know where candidates stand. Look at their record—not just what they say, but what they have actively done to protect life.
Bruce Cherry:
Exactly. Vote your values, vote the conservative Christian ticket, and vote all the way down the ballot.
Well, the music means we are out of time.
A quick reminder: mark your calendars for November 7th for our Pro-Life Radio fundraiser, Portraits of Life, held at House of Hope. More details will follow. Also, the nationwide Life Chain takes place on October 4th, and we encourage everyone to take part.
Thank you to our producer, Dave DeRica; executive producer, Debbie Shandy; and our guests, Barbara, Lynn, Jeanette, and Leo. Thank you all for listening at home. God bless you, and we’ll see you next week on AM 950 / FM 94.9 The Answer!
