Conversation with Representative Cory Mills
A Conversation on Faith, Service, and the Future of the Republic
Key Topics
The interview features Congressman Cory Mills discussing his legislative record and political philosophy within the context of the America 250 celebration. Central to the conversation is the Congressman’s unwavering pro-life stance, which he defines as a moral imperative rooted in faith. Other primary topics include the Congressman’s extensive constituent services, his active role in international rescue missions—including operations in Afghanistan, Israel, and Haiti—and his critique of federal government expansion. The discussion also addresses the importance of maintaining a constitutional republic, the necessity of fiscal responsibility, and the role of faith in guiding public policy and personal conduct.
Insights and Takeaways
Congressman Mills emphasizes a “performance over promises” approach to governance, highlighting his success in securing funding for local infrastructure, such as beach erosion studies, and improving benefits for military families. A significant takeaway is his rejection of political compromise, as he recounts resisting pressure from party leadership to vote against his principles. He frames his service as a mission rather than a career, noting that he donates his congressional salary to charity. Furthermore, the Congressman provides a sharp critique of the current political landscape, arguing that the nation is engaged in a spiritual battle and that leaders must prioritize constitutional adherence over political expediency.
Conclusions and Decisions
The interview concludes with a strong call to action for listeners to remain engaged in the upcoming midterm elections to protect the nation’s foundational values. Congressman Mills reaffirms his commitment to his constituents and his continued support for President Donald Trump’s agenda. The hosts and the Congressman emphasize the necessity of civic participation and the importance of supporting the Pro-Life Radio ministry. Listeners are encouraged to contribute to Mission Save America, Inc. to ensure the continued advocacy for the unborn and the preservation of the American experiment.
[ 00:00:00,000 ]Pro-Life Radio is a pre-recorded program paid for by Pro-Life Radio. Preserving the sanctity of life in Florida. A loud voice for the unborn. This is Pro-Life Radio with your hosts, Vicky and Bruce Cherry. And welcome to an America 250 edition of Pro-Life Radio on a July 4th week and July 5th. So I hope everybody’s had a great weekend. I know we have. It’s just so awesome to be here for the 250th. It really is. And we have an incredible guest for tonight’s show. So Congressman Cory Mills is joining us. Congressman, welcome. Thank you so much for having me. It’s blessed to be back. Thank you for being here for this special show. So we’re going to jump right into things. Of course, we start off all the time with Jeremiah 1:5 and prayer.
[ 00:00:50,420 ]Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Dear Heavenly Father, we ask for your blessing upon this show tonight, upon our guests, and upon all who hear it, that they have discernment, that they open their hearts, and that we all… realize, that we learn, and that we, those of us know, but that others need to know just how precious an unborn child is, and that no one has a right to disqualify a life that God has ordained to be. And God, we thank you for this time. In the name of your precious Son, Jesus Christ, amen. Amen. All right, Congressman. It’s been a long time. It has been a while.
[ 00:01:33,460 ]I think about a year and a half, maybe even two years since we’ve had you. It’s been a while. It’s been a while. But you’ve been busy. I get that. So we’re going to get right to it. The midterms are coming up. We know there’s nothing more important right now than the midterms. I know Uncle Bob has been pushing that for us. He has been. He has been. Uncle Bob is fantastic. And what a great guy. He’s really good as a narrator, just talking about messaging and talking about how the conservative movement can continue to push forward. And so, what a great advocate and a great person to have in the district. Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. And so, everything that Donald Trump has accomplished is on the line. And for conservatives, and for Christians especially.
[ 00:02:18,440 ]It’s really on the line. And so, because the other side is sitting there waiting to push back with abortion on demand, unfettered access to it all the way up to birth, which just I don’t understand how anyone could think that way. With opening our borders up. And so… We know the work that you do there. So tell us. You’re up for reelection. You’ve got some challenges. And we just want to make sure that everyone knows what’s at stake. Congressman. Why should we send you back to D. C.? I know the reason, but you tell us. Well, again, we don’t have time for OJT. This isn’t on-the-job training. It’s not about the promises we make in a campaign, but the performance and delivery. You know, our office, there’s 28 congressional districts in the state of Florida.
[ 00:03:08,590 ]We lead the entire district at over $102 million in constituent services. We literally have started programs throughout Seminole and Volusia County that result in tens of millions of dollars per year. And that only comes whenever you have developed relationships in Congress. That only comes when you sit on certain committees of jurisdiction and have gained certain types of seniority. For example, in my second term, I was actually given the privilege of having a gavel to be the chairman of Oversight and Intelligence. That carries a tremendous amount of weight. But also, everyone thinks that they know how Congress works, myself included, until you get here. And you understand the quagmire, and you understand how each individual committee of jurisdiction will look at the germaneness of your bill and look at how they can hold it up.
[ 00:03:52,630 ]And even to this day, I have bills that I’ve been pressing since my first year in Congress. I’ll give you an example. My very first year in Congress, I pushed what was known as H. R. 863. And what this bill would do is it would actually… Go after the publishing houses. Who have permitted and allowed the publication of sexually explicit or inappropriate material to children under age in any of these schools. And it would not only carry a five-year imprisonment, but also a fine up to $500,000 on the individual publishing houses themselves. So, you know, it’s bills like this that are so significantly important in the protection of our children, our youth, and our future that I’ve continued to press forward.
[ 00:04:35,780 ]But also all the work that we’ve done with our armed services, you know, things that we’ve done, which are we pass some of them like most amendments of each National Defense Authorization Act amendments that make real impact. For example, to spouses of military service members, where prior to our amendment that we passed this last Congress, there was only childcare for two days a week. On military installations. Now, if you’re a spouse who’s trying to finish college, who’s looking at a transition plan because your spouse is not wanting to do 20 or 30 years, or maybe they are in retirement, and you’re looking at how do I get out and how do I support my family while my husband finishes college or my wife finishes college?
[ 00:05:15,730 ]We’ve now increased that to have five days a week of childcare. We’ve now increased by 17% the E1 to E5s who are coming into military salary. We’ve looked at increasing military construction and VA benefits. That Milcon VA can actually build more houses to make it affordable and available for service members. You know, these are only a small amount of the things that we’ve done, but what we’ve done in pro… For example. You know, we did $1. 9 million recently to support our brave men and women who serve in law enforcement in Seminole County. We upgraded their entire modular communication system for all of their vehicles. We put in a $500,000 grant for a mobile juvenile crisis program to keep our youth out of the prison systems.
[ 00:05:58,880 ]And that’s really personal to me, knowing that my father spent 32 years in prison. My mom spent seven and a half years in prison. I grew up in a home that was riddled with drug abuse and addiction. and bounced house to house until I was nine years old, until my grandparents finally took me in and adopted me. And I came from a very simple blue-collar family, as many in Central Florida have come from. My grandfather was a welder. My grandmother was a stay-at-home mom, and she had a cosmetology license, so she would do hair on the weekend after church. And it’s programs like that. Like Aware, which actually brings attention to child predators for online sex trafficking and looking, because we do sit on a very, very critical corridor.
[ 00:06:38,360 ]That I-4 corridor is a passageway for trafficking of drugs, children, women. And it’s something that has to be brought to attention, but again. This is just some of the things. I’ve got one of the most constitutionally conservative records in Congress. If you go by any metric, whether it’s heritage action, whether it’s liberty scores, whatever, I’m always at a 90. 9% or greater rating. Some of the top in the entire Congress. And so this is about performance over promises. And I think that if you look at my record, if you look at what I have done, if you look at the fact that I know how the system works and the fact that I have supported President Trump throughout this entire presidency, helping to codify his executive orders into law.
[ 00:07:15,440 ]I think that there’s no question that I’m the right person at the right time. Wow. That’s a lot. That is a lot. That is a lot. And I know Vicky has a question for you, then I’ve got another one for you, but go ahead, honey. Well, you know, we did have one of your competitors on a while back. And I asked him a hard question. And the question was, are you pro-life? Are you pro-life? Why is that a hard question? Well, because the second part might be harder than the first. Saying you’re pro-life and exactly your opponent did say he was pro-life. And so then I said, okay, how pro-life are you? And so we asked him, so… What limits are you for or against? He said he was for.
[ 00:08:07,410 ]Pro-life with exceptions for medical and in cases of rape and incest. Medical, I think we all can understand, but that’s kind of a… And that’s between them and God, really. Yeah. I get it. But we know that doctors now have the ability to operate on babies in the womb and that they can save the baby and the mother. Yeah. If you have a doctor that can’t save both the baby and the mother and has to do an abortion, you need a different doctor. You need a new doctor. Yeah. So we understand that, but the limitations that he had, so… That was what kind of, he kind of stumbled there. Congressman. You have the floor. Well, look, I think that if you look at my pro-life rating, if you look at my rating with Susan B.
[ 00:08:54,940 ]Anthony, I think it speaks for itself. Look, you just read Jeremiah 1:5, where God himself said that before you were born, I knew thee, talking about from womb, from conception. The idea is that I understand medical emergencies with ectopic products, pregnancies, or other things where there is an actual direct life threat to the mother or the child. I think that that’s a decision that has to be made truly by the parents. Decision for lawmakers. Lawmakers need to, in some regards, stay out of the surgeon’s room whenever it comes to those types of decisions, because that’s not an elective procedure where they’re wanting to abort their child. That is a life-saving measure. But when it comes to other things, we have to understand, if you are blessed with a child, God does not make mistakes.
[ 00:09:42,010 ]Amen. And so at the end of the day, if God has blessed you with life, We need to make sure that we protect that at all costs. You know, I talk to many people who… They had their parents. Consider abortion. And. These are individuals who are life changers. These are leaders in our communities. These are people who have… advanced education, medicine, engineering. And had their parents made that decision, they would not have impacted so many lives. And so when it comes to Cory. I can tell you that I am unequivocally pro-life, and I don’t believe that God makes mistakes. All right. Thank you, Congressman. That’s what I was hoping to hear. There you go. Look, people can talk about how it’s an unpopular decision.
[ 00:10:31,440 ]People can talk about how this was a lax election. And I’ll tell you something. You have a lot of politicians who will waver on their values and their principles to win an election. I’m not willing to do that. The same question that I asked myself when I ran for office the first time, do I care more about saving this republic or do I care more about saving my seat? If it’s not about saving the Republic and maintaining your principles and values, then you’re just another politician. You’re exactly what we’re trying to defeat here in the swamp. Don’t compromise your values to keep a title. Because as far as I’m concerned, I have been a CEO. I’ve been a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army. I have been a chairman of executive boards.
[ 00:11:08,970 ]I have been a United States Congressman. But the only title that I will ever carry that matters is the title of dad. All right. Well, we have to take a break, and we’re going to get right back to it. Our guest is Congressman Cory Mills, and we’re coming to you from the John Barrows Memorial Studio. It’s Pro-Life Radio. It’s on an America 250 weekend. And we are so grateful for the congressman being here. We’re grateful for you listening. And we are truly grateful that God has blessed us with this grand experiment called America. We’ll be right back with more Pro-Life Radio on AM 950, FM 94. 9, The Answer. If you’re pro-life, like this show, and want to support this mission, please help with your donation today. Go online to givesendgo.com. or make your checkout to Mission Save America, Inc. and mail it to 13900.
[ 00:12:12,719 ]Pro-Life Radio is a non-profit entity and all donations are tax-deductible. Thank you. Welcome back to Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday evening. And happy 250. Yeah. God bless America. I’m a little jealous because several of our friends have headed up to D. C. for the festivities. And I’m a little jealous. You know, I’m not really because I am just so happy about the thing and being able to be home and enjoying our new house. That’s true. That’s true. Yes. Regardless of where you are, to enjoy the America 250 birthday, there’s something wrong. Then you better move. Yeah, really. There’s something wrong. Absolutely. Hey, we’ve got Congressman Cory Mills on the line with us here, taking a little time out of his very busy schedule, juggles being a dad and being a congressman and just being a great patriot, and we thank him for joining us.
[ 00:13:12,010 ]The question I have for you, sir. What are you most proud of that you’ve accomplished during your two terms? in office. You know, there’s so many things that I’m proud of in my service to Congress and serving the Florida 7th District. But there’s things that we’ve done that’s truly set us apart. You know, we’re the only member of Congress who has now rescued over almost 400 Americans. and three different countries. From Afghanistan in 2021, rescuing the first mother and three children out of Afghanistan, the first overland rescue that had ever been conducted. Whether it was going to Israel only four days after the barbaric attack. That occurred on the people in Israel in rescuing 255 people out of Tiberias and Nazareth and Haifa and the West Bank and Jerusalem.
[ 00:14:01,890 ]Whether it was going to Haiti. After the collapse. With the GS-9 gangs and what they know as Barbecue, who was killing people in the streets indiscriminately, and able to rescue 23 Americans who worked in missionaries and who worked in orphanages. And then working with the Tim Tebow Foundation to help to medically evacuate 59 mentally and physically disabled children out of Haiti. Who were being starved and were deprived of their medications and getting them to Jamaica to be settled in to where they could actually start receiving the treatment. And by the way, I’m happy to announce all 59 children are doing amazing. You know, those are some of the key things. That no one has done before. Going to Syria.
[ 00:14:42,360 ]and helping to try and gain an alliance to support Israel and to support the region so that we don’t have to keep deploying Americans, our treasures, and our men and women, the sons and daughters of this nation. Making sure that we vote with principle and conservative values, which I’ve talked about in my record, and I think that it speaks for itself, but also leading the state and actually representing ‘we the people.’ When it comes to our constituent services for VA, for disability, for SSI, for treasury. All of these things matter. And again, you’re talking about, I’ll give you an example, Volusia County and Pinellas County were the only two counties in the state of Florida for 10 years, never had a beach erosion study, and we were literally losing over a foot and a half of beachfront per year, per hurricane season.
[ 00:15:26,700 ]To the point that in Daytona Shores, under Mayor Nancy Miller, we actually had hotels falling in the ocean. We now have… utilizing the Homan Act, basically claiming that… Thank you. Again, freshmen wouldn’t know this, but there’s something called the Homan Act that, if we actually want to put pressure on those individuals, like the Corps of Engineers, we can use the Homan Act to take their salary down to… $1 a year if we feel that they’re failing to do their job. And that’s what I did. And wouldn’t you know it, they called immediately, we’re getting the feasibility study, we’re getting the seawalls erected, and we’re going to be able to preserve the beaches for Volusia County. Nice. These are key things. Mm-hmm.
[ 00:16:04,650 ]This is something that, as a freshman, I didn’t know I had the ability to do. But I’ll tell you, whether it was the rescues, whether it was constituent services, which is thanks to my amazing team. God put me in this place for a reason. And I’m not a congressman for all seasons. But in time of crisis, where our nation is today, the threats that we’re facing. I am purposely built for this, whether it was through my time as a U. S. Army combat veteran. Whether it’s my time as a contractor working with the State Department, the agencies, I know that I’m prepared to move forward and be able to carry out my duties. You’re leaving me a little speechless here, Congressman.
[ 00:16:44,480 ]I mean, I’ve seen how you do this, and I had a feeling that Afghanistan and Israel were going to be mentioned in there, because at the time I was chairman of the Republican Party for Seminole County, and you and I were in very close contact almost every other day, and then all of a sudden, radio silence. And somebody from your staff said the congressman can’t get back in touch with you right now. He’s on a… He’s on a kind of a clandestine mission. And I said, ‘OK.’ So I’m thinking, ‘OK, there’s some kind of meeting going on somewhere in D. C. And OK, fine. Just, you know. And then I find out at the end of the week that, oh, wait a minute, he’s been in Israel rescuing Americans.
[ 00:17:27,760 ]Oh, yeah. Look, that little thing I was going to talk to you about, don’t worry about it. No big deal. Yeah. You know, I mean, and again, it all came together, truly. And I’ll tell you, I’m not trying to be over-theological. I’m not trying to purposely advance my… campaign through faith. What I’m telling you is that I wholeheartedly will tell you none of this is possible. Without God. And literally, the first day that I went in for rescue of Israel, everything that could go wrong was going wrong. And I had a decision to make. I was sitting at, I had coordinated with our team. I took off immediately because I just couldn’t sit here any longer. I talked to Congressman Donald, who’s a close personal friend of mine, and said, ‘Look, I can’t be here anymore.
[ 00:18:11,030 ]There’s something— I’ve got to do this.’ And I flew to Jordan, again, being an Arabic speaker, that was very helpful. And I knew there were five bridges. And I went to one of the bridges, Bruce, and I can tell you, I had told my team that you had one called Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, one called King Khalifa Bridge. I knew that I had to go to King Khalifa Bridge, and I communicated that. But the team misunderstood that and went to Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, which is an hour-plus drive away. And when I came across that bridge, I had no one on the other side. And I had a decision to make. I can go back to the hotel. I can wait until my guys get here tomorrow. We can start again.
[ 00:18:41,270 ]But there’s people in that country who might not have another day. Who were sitting right across from the Sea of Galilee. And the Golan Heights where Hezbollah was taking fire. And I literally got into a taxi cab. Convince the guy, and I was utilizing every Pictionary capability possible— three words, two syllables, blah blah. Look at me! Don’t go there. Turn the radio down. Need you. By the grace of God, when I arrived at the first location in Tiberias, and we were able to get the team out. Our entire team had shown up. We have a security element. We had the buses, and we were able to get right into Nazareth, right into Hyphen. Here’s the most amazing thing about it. Rescuing those Americans in Israel. That was my first trip to Israel ever.
[ 00:19:25,250 ]And I fought. God, you brought me here for my first time. To walk the path of Jesus. And. This was my purpose, was to do it for the sake of helping others. What’s more powerful than that? While. I can’t think of anything. And No greater love hath man than to lay down his life for his fellow man. Got to love John. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. And that’s what it’s about, though. It’s like… We can talk about, I would have, I could have, I should have, I’m going to legislate this, I’m going to do that. But sometimes you have to take action. And I think that’s the difference between politicians who talk and statesmen who act. So. Question. You remember what it was like when you were a freshman congressman. Oh, yeah.
[ 00:20:15,600 ]I imagine there’s a little hazing, paying your dues. Getting your sea legs, so to speak. Tell us about that. Well, look, my first year in Congress, I remember one of the challenges I had. We had just passed a bill called Limit, Save, Grow, which was a great bill that got fiscal responsibility in place. That got watered down in the Senate and came back, and they wanted to call it the Physical Responsibility Act, and it was anything but responsible or physical. I remember that I was immediately saying, ‘I’m not voting on this.’ It took out permit reforms. It had no ceiling. It only had a date to spend. And it would have inflated massively. And I remember I had a call from leadership because they asked, how are you going to vote on this?
[ 00:20:54,690 ]And I said, no. They called me and they said, look, You’re a freshman. you need to be voting yes with leadership. And I said, I represent my district. No, I don’t. Now. I had three things I was proposed to me. This was on the phone in front of my chief of staff. The first thing they said was, Cory. What can we do to get you to a yes? And they offered… What if we give you money for your campaign? And I said, well. Clearly you don’t realize that I financed my own campaign. The second thing they said was, well, what about committees? What if I can get you on a special committee? I said, you know, I sit on the Armed Services Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee.
[ 00:21:29,250 ]Those are my first choices. I’m good. The third thing that came across was this. Not that it’s a shock in the corruption and swamp of D. C. But they said, well, Cory. You do realize that in D. C. you’re innocent until investigated. very clear veiled threat. Mm-hmm. And my response, without hesitation, was, ‘Well, Serge. You clearly don’t realize that I’m not here to make this a career. I’m here to make this my purpose and my mission to serve the people.’ I voted against the Physical Responsibility Act, was threatened to be stripped of my committees. Was threatened to have a primary opponent against me by leadership. And guess what? That didn’t sway me. You have to have a spine. You can’t be an empty suit.
[ 00:22:12,250 ]You can’t be someone who’s going to play the leadership game, or someone who’s going to be a politician who can’t stand on a single answer. Like, I’ll give you an example. If I ask someone who’s a candidate in this race, ‘Who are you supporting in the governor’s race?’ It shouldn’t be a political answer so that you don’t lose voters who are supporting someone else to say, ‘Well, you know, I think all three candidates are great.’ And, you know, we’ve evaluated and I’ve spoken to all of them. They’re all great individuals. That’s not an answer. That’s the most political non-answer possible. When I’m asked about it, I love Jay Collins. He’s a great friend of mine. We grew up very similarly. I love Byron Donaldson; he’s a personal friend.
[ 00:22:47,400 ]He worked in the state legislation. He’s worked in the federal government. And I was very clear. I support Byron Donaldson for the next governor of Florida. And I know that people get heartache over that. I’ve heard people say, ‘I’m not going to vote for you because I’m a Jay Collins fan.’ I respect that. But at least they know that I take a stance. And that my spine and my back don’t bend to whatever political woes. are going to try and influence things, or whatever kind of social media nuance that’s going to get me more clickbait. You have to stand on principle, and I’ll tell you, that’s tough. As a freshman, when you’re not getting bills passed, you’re being told that you have to vote a certain way, and you create enemies.
[ 00:23:25,460 ]But you know what? Judge a man by his enemies, not just by his friends. And so I’d look at it and say, if the swamp doesn’t like me, then I must be doing something right. Right. Thank you. If you’re not taking flack, you’re not over the target. Amen. There you go. All right, we’re up against another break. We’ll be right back with more. Congressman Cory Mills sharing with us on this America 250 weekend edition of Pro-Life Radio. And we’re coming to you from the John Barrows Memorial Studio. And we are so grateful that you’re here with us. If you like this ministry and you want to help us keep it on the air, stay close. We’ll have details on how you can contribute. [ 00:24:43,500 ]Pro-Life Radio is a non-profit entity and all donations are tax-deductible. Thank you. And we are back with more Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday night, July 5th. America 250 weekend. I love all the stuff that Trump has been doing. It is so amazing. It is. It is. And everyone still keeps fighting him. How can you not support the great America? You know? Yeah, there’s a lot of people that are jealous and a lot of people… Just hate this country. We’ve got to work hard to protect it, that’s for sure. We have Congressman Cory Mills with us. Thank you for being with us, Congressman. Thank you for having me. I know you’re on a tight schedule, so we’re going to jump right back into it here.
[ 00:25:31,410 ]There are some people talking about the fact that, you know, well, he’s in Congress. He’s getting, you know, money under the table, shady deals. I have known you for a while. And you are a very successful businessman. You… don’t need money under the table. Correct. Would you please share? Well, not only do I not need money under the cable and never have taken it, but I’m one of only two now. I was in the 118th Congress, the only one who donates my salary to a child veteran or a women’s charity. So this was not about making money for me. If anything, it was the worst financial decision I’ve ever made. I mean, my business has suffered tremendously with my absence. I have everything tied up to the point where I can’t touch anything.
[ 00:26:18,370 ]Obviously, I have no influence, no operational control, no fiduciary responsibilities. I donate my salary. These rescues. They don’t just materialize out of thin air. They cost money. You know, these donations, whether it’s to the Boys and Girls Club, whether it’s to the YMCA, whether it’s to various, you know, individual things where we have children who don’t have the money. Fly to DC to do these congressional tours. I always volunteer, whether it’s supporting my local clubs or the RECs and trying to buy tables and try and donate tables, etc. You know, this isn’t about money. I came from nothing, Bruce. When I tell you nothing, there was a year my grandfather will tell you the story. That. He had a quadruple bypass. He had lost his job. He couldn’t work.
[ 00:27:03,120 ]And he had gotten denied his disability. And he was repealing the decision. And I mean, this is at a time when his doctors had told him, ‘You can’t lift anything heavier than a milk jug without tearing. Things in your chest.’ And I remember my grandpa still lives in this little house to this day. It’s a two-bedroom, two-bath house. And it was only a two-bath house because he actually built the bathroom in the back. And. We were getting ready to lose our home. And I remember we lived on $6,800 as a family of three, for the entire year. And I will tell you something. Thank God that we would hunt and fish and that we were smart enough that we could go to a local yard sale and try and find a deep freeze for $100, plug it into the carport, and then we would hunt and fish and be able to fill it to gain meat.
[ 00:27:50,480 ]But there was a lot of meals that were just simple staples of rice, tomato gravy, cornbread, and sweet tea. And it kept you full. But I’ll tell you one of the things that we didn’t get deprived of was loving our household, an understanding of hard work, and safety. And I’ll tell you that. I don’t need under the table deals. I had a… The complaints actually that were launched against me, and surely there’s no conflict of interest here. All the complaints that had been launched against me for finance violations, things like that, was actually launched by my primary opponent. And the FEC had already dismissed it. So that’s the first thing I want to update. The FEC has dismissed. All these claims that there was any type of campaign finance violation, etc.
[ 00:28:33,340 ]That’s all been dismissed. It’s all been wiped off. So. I am committed to doing the job that I’m doing. Actually, if you want to talk about not doing money, let me go one step further. I propose something. That you would have literally thought that I was outside drowning kittens the way the Republican Party looked at me. I mean, I just simply made a comment, and I said, ‘Listen. I understand.’ all seven articles, 27 amendments of our Constitution. But… How is it that we’re allowing ourselves to be paid $174 ,900 a year? when that’s higher than 90% of family median incomes. Why don’t we modify that and make it to where… The district that you represent, your salary is based on the family median income of the district you represent.
[ 00:29:21,580 ]So when you vote on something and it hurts your pocket, it’s hurting the pockets of those you represent as well. And you literally could have seen the gas. on their face. I even went further and said, and why not clean up campaign finance reform? Let’s make it to where, if you’re running for Congress, you can only raise money in the district and from constituents who are registered. Running for Senate, you can only raise it from the state that you’re in. So we can stop people from going to Silicon Valley or being bought by big data or being bought by AI or being bought by the casinos or whomever. Let’s go ahead and keep it local. I literally had gas throughout the conference and so.
[ 00:29:59,730 ]To say that I’m in it for the money is the most laughable and most preposterous thing that you could ever say when it comes to the fact that I have lost so much money and even invested over $2 million. Million of my own cash in the campaign because I know how difficult it is right now. And it’s getting better. Thank God under President Trump, our fuel prices are at a four-month low. People are getting back to work. Our economy is booming. Our military force is seeing its recruitment numbers. And we’re in a much better position. We are in a golden era, as President Trump talks about. But prior to that, we were under some pretty difficult times with affordability, with availability, and we still have work to do.
[ 00:30:35,730 ]But I can tell you that I wasn’t going to go out and ask people for their hard-earned cash. When I’ve been blessed with more than I deserve. And. I grew up poor. And like my grandfather used to say, ‘You’ve never seen… A hearse pulling a U-Haul. You know, it even says, and the Bible talks about the fact that, ‘store your treasures in heaven, for all that is left on earth will go to the dust and moths.’ So, yeah. That tells me. That it’s never been about how much money you make. But how much good you can do. You know, something else, and we talk about this quite frequently at our place. You see these… Gen Xers that have work their way into Congress. The bartender.
[ 00:31:20,550 ]And I’m not going to say her name. The bartender. Everyone knows. Who’s now worth, what, $30 to $40 million? How do you go from being a bartender six years ago to being worth $40 million now without some kind of… underhanded, under the table. Something going on. I mean, Look, how do you make $174,900 a year? Mm-hmm. And come out in four years with millions of dollars. That math ain’t mathin’, quote my son. If you look in just in the last 10 presidents, only one has lost money while he was in office. And that was President Donald J. Trump. Yep. And I can tell you that, like it says in the preambles of our Declaration of Independence, when it talks about the sacrifices our founding fathers had to make to be willing to sacrifice their name, their treasure, to include their life.
[ 00:32:10,820 ]That’s what it takes for us to get to 250 years. The longest-standing constitutional Republican, by the way, for all the listeners. I know you hear the Democrats always talk about how we’re a democracy. We’re a democracy. Listen. Go look at Article 4, Section 4 of our Constitution. That makes it very clear. We are a constitutional republic. The difference in a constitutional republic, which believes in the rule of law and democracy, which believes in mob rule. So we have a democratic process. For our elections, but we are a constitutional republic, make no doubt about that. Amen. And. It amazes me how many people either don’t know that in D. C. or they’re playing dumb and want us to believe that we’re a democracy.
[ 00:32:52,830 ]Bruce, you would be surprised that there are members of Congress, and I guarantee members in my own primary race, that couldn’t tell you the seven articles and 27 amendments of our Constitution. They couldn’t point to a single point in history where our country took a turn. which I will tell you. If you look at the worst president in history, it’s not the auto pin. It’s actually Woodrow Wilson. And go back to 1913, the ratification on the 16th and 17th Amendment, and look what he was doing. A lot of people don’t know this, but our U. S. senators used to be elected by our state legislators. And the reason why… was to protect our 10th Amendment rights. So that anything not covered in the Constitution that falls into the individual states and then to the individual people couldn’t be infringed upon.
[ 00:33:34,380 ]And so when you look at that, the idea was just to be able to take care and minimize and try and diminish and disenfranchise our state legislators for federal power in D. C. But what do you need to grow federal power in D. C.? Oh, wait. You need money. And what was the 16th Amendment? federal income tax. You know, they claim that it was because we needed roads and schools and military. Apparently, Bruce, before 1913, we didn’t have roads, schools, or military, according to the politicians in D. C. But what did we see after the 16th and 17th Amendment was passed? You saw this hockey stick-like trajectory of growth of departments, bureaus, agencies. Bloating. You got the elimination of the tariffs. Oh, wait a second. Who brought back tariffs recently?
[ 00:34:17,250 ]That’s right. President Donald J. Trump, something that was utilized from roughly 1860 to, I believe it was around the time the 16th Amendment was ratified, that 90% of our federal revenue used to come from tariffs. Not from ‘we the people.’ Why shouldn’t we tariff and tax countries who are making money on Americans as opposed to taxing the Americans themselves? And so it’s just interesting how we’ve kind of. But you’ve got members of Congress. I promise you, Bruce. who couldn’t tell you the seven articles and 27 amendments, literally the guardrails of their roles and responsibilities and duties that they had bestowed upon them that they swear an oath to. How do you swear an oath to defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic? If you don’t even know what our Constitution entails.
[ 00:35:04,680 ]People have to know. And the reason that people are having their rights infringed upon is because they don’t know they’re having their rights infringed upon. And that’s why they took civics out of school, so that you don’t know how to hold your government accountable. Yeah. They would rather teach these ridiculous things like pansexuality, transgenderism, which are mental health issues. We have a mental health crisis in America. That’s what we have going on here. And we have to address that. But I’ll tell you, whether it’s CRT in our schools, ESG in our corporations, or DEI in our military—what this president’s gotten rid of— what we need is G-O-D back in our community, in our lives, in our state, and in our country. Amen. Amen. Amen. The Constitution only works for a God-fearing people.
[ 00:35:52,050 ]That’s it. And it was literally framed upon our Constitution, our God-given rights, not our government-afforded rights. Yeah. Rights come from God, not from man. Absolutely. And, you know, when you said Woodrow Wilson, I was getting ready to say Woodrow Wilson because Vicky and I took a we took biblical citizenship. And in there, it talks about what Woodrow Wilson did. To the country, not just the income tax, but to black Americans. He expunged them from every bit of historical data that he could possibly pull them from. He was a history professor by profession before he became president. So, all right, we’re going to take a break and we’ll be right back with our final segment with Congressman Cory Mills. There is nothing, nothing more important right now than making sure we get to the finish line.
[ 00:36:44,390 ]For the midterms. And we’ll tell you more about that coming up in just a bit. Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday night on America 250 Weekend on AM 950, FM 94. 9, The Answer. And on with us tonight is a very special guest, and he has answered a lot of questions. Bruce has kind of put him on a hot plate. A little bit, yeah, a little bit.
[ 00:37:47,250 ]Is that your son I hear in the background there? I hear some chatter in the background. He’s going in to grab some food right now. Oh, cool. Cool. He’s a great kid. We’ve met him. He’s a great kid. Oh, he’s amazing. I look forward to seeing the festivities and the fireworks to celebrate America’s 250. Yeah, there you go. Thank you, sir. All right. So, okay, we were talking about Woodrow Wilson. I want to point this out. Like I said, he… He really was not a good guy. He was a terrible person. He was a Democrat. That’s right. And I don’t know how many people understand that. Against popular belief, there’s more than just Wilson from Castaway. This was a president who was a wretched individual who truly…
[ 00:38:33,880 ]turn the tides in the direction of our nation. To deprive the American people and the states of their rights to try and gain power and influence in the federal space here in D. C. And that’s been the problem for too long. Is that I am a Tenth Amendment absolutist. We need to return power back to the states and the people, and we need to be depriving power from federal government. Something else about Woodrow Wilson, he was very close friends with Margaret Sanger. Of course he was, the creator of Planned Parenthood, who originally created it for the entire reasoning. of trying to eliminate. The… entire African-American population. Yep. Yep. It’s okay. You can say black. I give you that permission. So, it’s… Black, white, green, purple, bottom line is that it was built for racial purposes.
[ 00:39:24,220 ]Exactly. Exactly. And yeah, and he was, he was. And I mean, what can you say about a woman who’s got so much hatred she wants to eradicate an entire people? And one of her biggest fans was Adolf Hitler. Oh, go figure. I mean, I get a little bit of a… a background and a past in trying to eradicate and eliminate an entire populace. Yeah, there you go. And Woodrow Wilson just… was buddies with her and supported herself. Anyway, Woodrow Wilson, who was also a very big fan of one of his most popular writers and poets, which is Frederick Nietzsche, who had the famous quote, ‘God is dead.’ Ah. So, man, I like this guy even less the more I learn about him. So, okay. Wow.
[ 00:40:11,670 ]So, Cory, tell us a little about. How is Trump doing? How’s things going for him right now? Look, the president… is incredible. I’ll be honest with you. I don’t know if you saw this couple of months back where Marco Rubio, our great secretary of state and Florida native. He literally was saying, ‘I have to hide sometimes on Air Force One and sneak naps. Because this man doesn’t sleep.’ President Trump. And I want to remind people. He didn’t need to do this. He did it because of love for the country. He did it because, I will tell you, at the core of the president, regardless of what you see on TV. Regardless of this amazing showmanship that he has as an entertainer. And as an amazing leader, he is a father and a grandfather at heart.
[ 00:40:54,710 ]And that’s what this is really about for him. I’ve watched him. I have sat at dinner with him and our amazing first lady. And when he found out that his grandkids had shown up, he literally looked at me and said, ‘Cory, I love you.’ We’d love to have dinner, but my grandkids are here, and I hope that you understand I can spend time with them. And I was like, absolutely. Great impression. I’ll be honest with you, I could do it better than anyone. Everyone knows. Thank you. Sleepy Joe. Sleepy Joe. And the fake media, that’s all there is to it. Don’t trust the media. Don’t trust the media at all, even if they’re running for office. Oh, a little dig in there. Okay. That is a great Donald Trump impersonation.
[ 00:41:36,980 ]I’m impressed. Thank you, sir. That was good. I spent quite a bit of time around the president. You’ve got to keep in mind, I knew the president, and this is a long history, but I’ve known the president since before he was elected his first time into office. So in 2015… President Trump had selected five people as his original policy advisors, should he run for the presidency, and that was Waleed Forrest, Carter Page, Keith Kellogg, Joe Schmitz, and Bert Misasawa. And they knew even back then that they were potentially being spied upon, that the government was being weaponized. So I used to host them in my offices in a secured space. Every week so they could have policy discussions to put together to go back to New York to be able to go ahead and present to the president.
[ 00:42:20,090 ]So I’m not some Johnny-come-lately, and that’s why. President Trump, who I stood by in the courtrooms in New York with him and Todd Blanch and many others when they were wrongfully trying him under Judge Merchan, who was weaponizing the actual welfare system. And I have stood by the president of the time, and the president has now endorsed me three different times. And I am the only… endorsed candidate in Florida Senate by President Donald J. Trump. Mm. All right. You know, I’m glad you I’m glad you mentioned that because Vicky and I are still somewhat politically active. And we people people come up and ask us questions. And they’re like, well, I hear President Trump’s getting ready to pull his endorsement of Cory. You’re hearing wrong. OK, first off, President Trump doesn’t pull endorsements.
[ 00:43:07,740 ]President Trump is, when he endorses somebody, he stands by them. He’s sure. And no, he’s complete and total endorsement that is what he stands by. And I have supported this president long before he was President Trump. And I will continue to support him throughout the remainder of his term. And that’s my goal, and you can look at my record. It speaks for itself. All right. Now for a second, Cory, you remind me, we had Silk on a couple weeks ago. And she was, you know, of Diamond and Silk. She was amazing. Oh, she was. And she was so awesome. Oh, yes. Yeah. Dump the chump. Get on the train with Trump. Something like that. Yeah, that was— that was the campaign slogan they came up with when he was running against when Biden was was still in.
[ 00:43:56,339 ]And, yeah, she said, ‘Yeah, we’re going to dump the chump and get on the train with Trump.’ And she, like what you said, she supported Trump before. He even ran. I always thought that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ campaign slogan should have been, it’s a no-brainer. Well, you know, they used to say that about… I’m drawing a blank on the Democratic, the only Democrat with any intelligence in Congress. Oh, Fetterman? Fetterman, thank you. Fetterman. Well, she’s not going to run as, well, I heard. I don’t know if it’s true. Well, he just goes to prove. I mean, it takes a stroke in your brain to rewire, to turn conservative. Yeah, well, there you go. Dennis Prager has always said liberalism is mental illness. Do you know, Cory, if Fetterman is running as an independent?
[ 00:44:45,560 ]I think it was an independent. Again. Arrgh! Next time. Is that true? Do you know if that’s true? John and I don’t see 100% eye to eye on all of our ideological beliefs, but I can tell you that. He at least understands common sense. Mm-hmm. When you are born… I don’t care if you nip, clip, or tuck and put makeup on it. It doesn’t make you a biological woman. You have an XXY chromosome. And you are. Born by God. A boy or a girl, and that is all there is to it. There are only two genders. Yeah. Absolutely. And I think everybody knows that, just like I think everybody knows that it’s a baby. Well, you know, I think I really think that the people out there who don’t know that.
[ 00:45:35,450 ]There’s something wrong with them. And they genuinely have been talked into, oh, no, there’s more than two genders. Yeah, that sort of thing. Well, look, that’s like people who want to declare atheism. Let me just be clear. I don’t believe that atheism exists. And I’ll tell you why I say this. People who want to claim that they’re an atheist are because they don’t want to feel as if they’re obligated under their own moral compass to follow what is right and what is wrong, and they know that in their heart. They don’t need laws to tell them what is right and what is wrong. But I promise you this: on their deathbed, the last words they’ll cry out to is God for help.
[ 00:46:14,480 ]And that proves in itself that atheism is nothing more than an excuse to try and get away from your moral compass. And everybody’s got to pay the piper on that one. Sooner or later. And that’s why I say, I don’t mind the difficulties and the troubles. That I’m facing. It even talks on the Bible, it says, ‘If you’re going through trials and tribulations, do not fret, but rejoice.’ I mean, think about what Joe… I didn’t do it. Think about all of the apostles who had their own individual issues. And mistakes and problems they had made. But they turn to God. And when you’re facing some of the most difficult times in your life, you are sitting at the fork in the road, and you have a choice to make.
[ 00:46:54,310 ]You can either take the easy route. And basically just go ahead. and turn your back on God, and do whatever is necessary to try and go ahead and get yourself out of it, or you can take the hard path. And gain closeness to God. And I promise you. I have regrets on maybe overtrusting people. And sure. We all make mistakes. But at the end of the day, It actually challenged me and my faith to bring me closer to God. And I know more now than ever. That whatever my path is in life. That that path is the one that God’s intended for me, and I accept whatever that is. Because that was another question I think that people asked. Is Cory really? Belief. He does have a belief in God.
[ 00:47:41,430 ]Oh, yeah. And I said, yes, yes, he does. Look, I grew up in Sunday school. I grew up where, on Wednesdays, we would actually do a junior Bible study where each kid, after a certain time, you had to get a certain tally of service days. Before you could then get up and do a 10-minute. Yes. Preach on the Word. Because remember, once you’re baptized, the second thing is to spread the Word of God. Not to argue the Word of God, but to spread the Word of God. And… I remember even when I was in the military and I was getting ready to go to airborne school, you couldn’t wear any metallic objects. I used to wear my rosary bead. I grew up in a very mixed family.
[ 00:48:19,430 ]Some of my family was Baptist, some of my family was Catholic, some of my family was Jehovah Witness. I had been exposed to all of it and understood Christianity for what it was. And I remember I tattooed my rosary beads on my arm to have them there. Now, I got a tattoo that was about $50, and it wasn’t the best of quality, so it faded over time. But when it came time to cover that up, I covered up with, Archangel Michael. Mmm. And. It’s literally probably about half my arm. Is Archangel Michael. And, I believe. And, you know, I pray. Defend me. And prepare me for battle. And. That’s what I believe that we’re facing right now. It’s not about political. What’s, you know, Republican versus Democrat, socialism versus, you know, conservatism.
[ 00:49:06,550 ]This is good versus evil. And this is spiritual warfare that we’re under right now. And we are, if you look at the signs, we’re living in the days of revelations. It even talks about revelations that in the days, what is right will be wrong, what is wrong will be right. We can’t even pick what bathroom to go into at this point. All right. So I think that we just have to understand, people can question my faith all day long. That’s fine. Question it. But God and I know where I stand. And that’s what matters, because when I have to go on Judgment Day to stand before God, ‘Mm-hmm. He knows my heart. He knows that my faith has been tested. But I’ve never wavered from it. Amen. Amen.
[ 00:49:45,040 ]Congressman, I have to stop you. And all I can say is we’re praying for you and we’re voting for you. And we look forward to you serving our district, the congressional district, CD7. I didn’t point out parts of Volusia County where we live. And all of Seminole County. And don’t just pray for us, but let’s pray for this nation. Absolutely. Let’s pray for all those who are in difficult times right now. And let’s remember that God gave his only begotten son for the forgiveness of our own sins. It’s never too late. And Satan will try to mislead us. He will try to deceive us. But it is never too late to turn your faith to God and ask for forgiveness and to live your life in a righteous way. Amen. Amen.
[ 00:50:31,280 ]All right. So we have to go. We are now officially out of time. Congressman, we invite you back after the election. All right. We will see you, sir.
