Light in the Darkness – Fighting for Life from Orlando to Overseas

Bruce Cherry: Welcome to another edition of Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday night. I am Bruce Cherry, and across from me is my lovely wife, Vicky Cherry.

Vicky Cherry: Good evening! We have an incredible guest in the studio with us tonight.

Bruce Cherry: Yes, we do. She has been here before, and we are blessed to have her again—Nancy Randolph! Nancy is an educator, a pro-life warrior, a strong Christian woman, a mentor to young men and women in this community, and a marvelous historian.

Vicky Cherry: And a marvelous historian! Thank you for being here with us.

Nancy Randolph: Thank you for having me again. I always love coming here.

Vicky Cherry: We call her a dear friend and a sister in Christ.

Nancy Randolph: Absolutely, same here!

Bruce Cherry: Nancy has been a teacher at Victory Christian Academy in the heart of inner-city Orlando for more than 15 years, and she’s also a civic leader. We’re hoping one day we can persuade her to run for public office—maybe against Anna Eskamani! We’re still working on that, right?

Vicky Cherry: It’s not too late yet! The community needs a strong Christian voice—a true warrior.

Bruce Cherry: As for Vicky and me, we had our shot at local politics, but we live outside that district now, so we’re out of the running there!

Nancy teaches American and World History, Bible, Grammar, Speech, and Drama to 7th through 12th-grade students. Many of you listening may have seen Nancy and her students perform live historical showcases like Black History Live or American History Live.

Nancy Randolph: Yes!

Vicky Cherry: It is just incredible. If you haven’t seen it, I pray you get the opportunity because it’s awesome. The kids do such a great job, and Nancy does so much to build up their confidence. But I’m getting ahead of myself—we always start our broadcast with Jeremiah 1:5 and prayer.

Bruce Cherry: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Dear and most gracious Heavenly Father, we thank You for another opportunity to come together in Your name, to share truth, and to prayerfully open the eyes of those who cannot see truth. Show them how precious the gift of life is that You give to each one of us, and remind us that no one has the right to disqualify a human life out of convenience, anger, or profit. God, we ask You to let us be fruitful in changing hearts, minds, and lives, saving the lives of the unborn and all who are in danger—because it starts with the unborn, but eventually extends to the elderly, the sick, and the poor. Let us be fruitful in protecting life through this show and in all that we do. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Nancy Randolph: Amen.

Bruce Cherry: So, Nancy, welcome back to the show! Let’s address the elephant in the room: How important are the upcoming midterm elections for God’s people and for this country?

Nancy Randolph: It is so important. My pastor is deeply passionate about this election—more than almost any other—and I thank God for that. I remember telling my speech and debate students back before President Biden took office: “Guys, if the wrong people get into power, they are going to change laws fast.” And look at how fast things shifted under President Obama and now President Biden.

This is critical because the opposition is fighting hard. When President Trump talked about draining the swamp—when you drain a swamp, the creatures at the bottom fight with everything they have. That’s what we are witnessing. As Christians, we have to step up. David said in the Bible that whatever our hands find to do, we must do it with all our might.

Government isn’t something Christians should avoid. God established government from the very beginning. He told Adam to have dominion—that’s leadership and governance. He reaffirmed it with Noah. Look at Joseph, David, the Kings, and the Judges—they were all leaders in government. Christians must be involved.

Vicky Cherry: Look at the strategic alliance between radical socialist elements and other anti-Christian movements right now.

Nancy Randolph: Exactly! “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

Bruce Cherry: We are being attacked on multiple fronts, and the only way we can stand firm is through the grace of God.

Nancy Randolph: That’s it—through God. First and foremost, this is a spiritual war. That’s why organizations like Intercessors for America and praying churches are so vital. You cannot fight a spiritual war with physical weapons; prayer is essential.

Christians must be active because God works through His people. Second Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people who are called by My name…” God works through believers, not the unsaved, to bring transformation. So Christians must vote, speak out, and educate others. Voting once every few years and walking away isn’t enough anymore.

Vicky Cherry: Exactly. Look at how truth is being inverted. I read recently that the Obama Presidential Center is hosting a Planned Parenthood gala—calling abortion “healthcare.”

Bruce Cherry: That isn’t healthcare. That’s a lie.

Nancy Randolph: And in the African-American community, Planned Parenthood is welcomed into so many churches and community groups. In reality, why not just invite the Ku Klux Klan to church? People claim the Bible doesn’t address abortion, but it absolutely does!

If you believe God forms life in the womb and has a plan for every person, how can anyone claim God is absent from that decision? Senator Raphael Warnock once suggested God isn’t in the abortion decision—how can you teach people that God is omnipresent, but somehow absent inside an abortion clinic? God ordained life; we do not have the right to destroy it.

Vicky Cherry: We’ve had numerous women sit right in that studio chair and tell us they were minutes away from aborting their child when God spoke directly to their hearts in the clinic, saying, “Get out of here, I will take care of you.” And He kept His word.

Nancy Randolph: He always keeps His word! Claiming God isn’t present in an abortion clinic is a lie from the pit of hell.

Bruce Cherry: Our friend Pastor Paul Blair always asks: “What part of your life is Jesus not Lord over?” If you have an answer to that question, then He isn’t Lord of your life at all.

Nancy Randolph: Amen. Every last Saturday of the month, Pro-Life Radio gathers outside the Maitland Abortion Clinic next to the Pregnancy Center. When we go down there to pray and sing, you can feel the Holy Spirit’s presence so strongly.

Bruce Cherry: It brings me to tears almost every time.

Nancy Randolph: You are fighting for the physical life of that child, but also for the spiritual salvation of the mother, the father, and the doctor. Only God can transform a heart. We show them the love of Jesus and remind them that God has a plan for that baby, just like He has a plan for them.

Bruce Cherry: I remember when we used to pray outside the abortion clinic in Tampa.

Nancy Randolph: Yes! It’s wonderful when you reach a young mother and save a baby, but what happens when an abortion doctor repents? Think of the witness when a former abortionist turns to Christ and exposes the industry. Look at Dr. Haywood Robinson, who came on our show to share his testimony before he passed away. Praise God he surrendered his life to the Lord and spoke out against the evils of abortion.

There is a spiritual tool David mentions in Psalm 119:164: “Seven times a day I praise You.” Psalm 149 teaches that praise is a two-edged sword. Look at how other religions use frequent daily calls to prayer—the enemy often understands the application of spiritual principles better than Christians do. They project spiritual declarations over cities to weaken the atmosphere. What if the Church praised God seven times a day? When God sent Israel into battle, who went first? Judah—which means Praise. Praise is a strategy! I set an alarm on my phone to pause and praise God seven times throughout the day.

Vicky Cherry: I am going to write that down and start doing that myself!

Part 2: Global Trends, Silent Prayer, and Spiritual Breakthroughs

Vicky Cherry: Welcome back to Pro-Life Radio on a Sunday evening. I’m Vicky Cherry, alongside my handsome husband, Bruce.

Bruce Cherry: Thank you, dear!

Vicky Cherry: We are here with our special guest, Nancy Randolph from Victory Christian Academy. Nancy is an incredible teacher and a wonderful friend.

Bruce Cherry: Nancy was telling us during the break that during the first couple of weeks of school, her academy walks students through the Plan of Salvation. Contrast that with public schools in places like Oregon, where on the first day of school, administrators showed children videos featuring drag queens.

Nancy Randolph: It was evil.

Bruce Cherry: Look at what’s happening in London, England—a place where people can be arrested on the sidewalk for praying silently in their heads near an abortion clinic! Yet when pro-abortion agitators recently disrupted a Catholic mass, standing in front of the altar with signs, law enforcement did nothing.

Vicky Cherry: It needs to stop.

Bruce Cherry: Legal advocates in London are pointing out the blatant double standard: how can silent prayer on a public sidewalk lead to an arrest, while actively disrupting a church service goes unpunished? Is England completely lost?

Nancy Randolph: There are still strong believers fighting there! Ministries like Karen Wheaton’s The Ramp have established churches in London. The battle is intense, but light shines brightest in the darkness.

Vicky Cherry: And they had a massive turnout for their recent March for Life!

Bruce Cherry: That is very encouraging news. A revival is brewing over there, even amidst persecution. Nancy, share with our listeners what you were telling us about faith and spiritual authority.

Nancy Randolph: Ephesians 6 details the armor of God, but people often overlook the conclusion: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication.” Prayer is the fuel behind the armor, and praise is our weapon.

My mother ran a homeless shelter in Savannah, Georgia, and held prayer services seven times throughout the day and night based on David’s example. Praise breaks spiritual strongholds. Just as unity carried weight at the Tower of Babel, unified praise carries immense spiritual power. If believers across America set alarms to praise God seven times a day, we would see strongholds crumble.

Faith pleases God, but active, persistent faith moves God. Consider the two individuals Jesus commended for having “great faith”—the Syrophoenician woman and the Roman centurion. Neither required a visible sign in front of them; they simply believed Jesus’ word and trusted His authority. We already have God’s promises—we just need to step out in faith and act.

I truly believe we can turn this nation around during the elections. God’s hand was clearly on Donald Trump’s presidency—he accomplished historic milestones for the pro-life movement and religious freedom. We must evaluate policies and Biblical alignment rather than focusing solely on human flaws.

Vicky Cherry: Amen! Preach, sister!

Bruce Cherry: We are privileged to live at such a time as this and to participate in this fight.

Nancy Randolph: When the disciples asked Jesus about the signs of the end times, His first warning was against deception—mentioning it four times in Matthew 24. Today we see false teachers wearing pride vestments, promoting abortion from pulpits, and twisting scripture. It is deception, plain and simple.

Bruce Cherry: It’s disgraceful, and we must stand firm against it. We have another short station break coming up.

Part 3: Defunding Planned Parenthood and Civic Action

Bruce Cherry: Welcome back to Pro-Life Radio. I’m Bruce Cherry, alongside Vicky, and our guest Nancy Randolph.

Nancy, young people respect you so much. When they are around you, they put their phones away and listen because you truly care about them.

Meanwhile, at the Republican strategy meetings in Dallas, nearly 40 pro-life and faith-based groups called on President Trump’s administration to completely strip Planned Parenthood of all federal funding and revoke its qualified vendor status.

The letter—spearheaded by Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins—was addressed to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Attorney General Todd Blanche, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler, and President Trump. It urges officials to finalize an audit into Planned Parenthood’s improper collection of tens of millions of dollars in COVID Paycheck Protection Program funds.

Vicky Cherry: Taxpayer dollars should never be used to fund abortion or elective procedures.

Bruce Cherry: Absolutely. Planned Parenthood is an organization that profits off human destruction. If someone chooses to undergo elective procedures, they should pay for it out of their own pocket—not force taxpayers to foot the bill.

Nancy Randolph: Exactly. As Christians, we must make our voices heard. The radical left consistently shows up at school board meetings and contacts elected officials because they are organized. Conservative Christians need to call their senators, email their representatives, and show up. You can call congressional offices in the middle of the night and leave a voicemail—they log every single call!

Bruce Cherry: It is time for the Church to roar like the Lion of Judah. Nancy, thank you so much for being with us tonight and for your incredible dedication to the youth and families of Orlando.
